New Mexico History

The New Mexico History Museum was up following our tour.  They displayed artifacts from hundreds of years ago, detailed the oppression the native people faced at the hands of the Spanish, Mexicans, and Americans.  They continued on to WWII in which many New Mexicans lost their lives early on.  Finishing the tour was a floor dedicated to the Manhattan Project.

Los Alamos, less than 20 miles from Santa Fe, held the secret research facility for the Manhattan Project that would produce the  Plutonium and Uranium bombs that were used to end WWII after being dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
